Great pieces of information, if used properly, they can be a goldmine for anyone!

Keeping your songs sellable is a great tip - I tend to be a perfectionist and end up worrying about the wrong things.

I’m having to learn to create the entire song, shop it and then worry about the smaller details (which most people will never notice anyway…)

Your so right Ty u have to keep the momentum up even if u dont have the loot u have to be ready to produce at the drop of a dime i keep a schedule for my time. You dont want to waste time cost u cant buy it or sell it back. Ty keep up the good work one love Trykel!!

It’s absolutly a great idea to work on something pertaining to your career eveyday. I rise early daily and the second thing I do (the first is coffee), is get on the computer to see if there is any action for the day or do I have to create some. It seems that in this economic crunch it’s time for the musician to get out everyday and hunt down those jobs. Sometimes you just don’t feel like going door to door (literally), but if you don’t try you won’t get the job and on quite a few occasions you’ll actually meet someone who is interested enough to either give it a shot or turn you on to someone who would. If you can’t get out or want to be alone for the day that’s a fine time to go over songs, setlists etc. This also can spark some energy to pursue what you want most. As Ty sppoke of in an earlier post - persistence pays ! Having your music ready is of course monumental. Unless you are a real good sales person you have to have the product. Hats off to this blog ! Every day now for the past 3 months I have been on the computer with coffee in hand, searching for the right producer,A&R rep.,record label,or music publisher who
will recognize my songwriting ability.I can NOT afford
to pay someone to submit my lyrics to for them to review
or critique!!I know I am a great songwriter via friends
and family members have told me so,and I believe them!!
Paramount Group in Nashville,Tenn. has done a demo for
me,and told me that I have displayed an excellent talent,
but they have done nothing to promote my demo or lyrics
that I have sent them, all they want is more money from
me for demos.I realize that most A&R and music producers
do not accept lyrics only, but in my case, they should make
an exception because I believe that I have written at
least three country songs which if recorded by the right
person would be on the charts.I am sick and tired of
all of these places wanting money from me!!!If they could
set aside their greed for a moment, they might discover
my REAL TALENT as a writer!!Best Regards,Jesse M. Pedi

WOW!!! THIS IS SUCH A POSTIVE MESSAGE !!! THANKS

Trouble is, there is a glut, getting worse, of great guitar players. There is a limit to what a guitar can do, and that has been streached to distortions. To differentiate, fretters try to write songs, which they do not do well, and then they PLAY them. Then, some superior songwriter such as myself writes a WALTZ, for instance, and there is no market, and no virtuoso players of suitable instruments to perform it, and no singers of legato lyrics to rise for the occasion. Another problem is that ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC, seem to be more interested in wielding control than making money directly.
They could loosen up and PROMOTE their legacy songs to
musicians. The language of music has gone to dialects, then, baby talk, and now, it is just a “joyous noise”. Goo.

What’s up TY.
You always have kept me motivated, and this is just another great example. I’ve been doing my own music for about Ten years now, and the reason I have not stepped out yet is because I do it all by myself. (All the instrumentation and vocals). I make it a point not to sample because I want to make a mark in this industry like everyone else who had there own signature sound. I consistently work day and night. And because I love what I do, time just doesn’t matter. I’ve made some money selling beats and Recording for individuals out of my home studio, but it’s almost time to get my voice (meaning musical style), out there. But I’m 46 years old and I don’t want to get on stage anymore. I need some young talent that’s willing to work hard to get what they want out of this business. But everyone I meet, wants it over night. I need to find fresh, No-nonsense kind of people to make this thing work. But trust me, my day will come. Later Ron B. From Creation Station Sounds. And by the way the interview with the professor/Musical lawyer was very informative.

For the artist manager.. i can help you with attaining investors. My company, KTD Entertainment Group Inc, is funded soley through
investors, contact me through twitter for more info

Ty, as always you are the man. Thanks for these 3 tips. I really like #2 the best. I think that would be akin to time activating our goals so that we can get them done promptly.

I’ll implement this way of thinking with my current and future projects and keep you posted on the progress.
